Depositing

A step-by-step guide to making your first deposit. The whole process takes a couple of minutes.

Before you start

  • A self-custody wallet (for example MetaMask, Rabby or a hardware wallet).
  • The HyperEVM network in your wallet, a little HYPE for gas, and USDT0 on HyperEVM. New to this? Start with Before you deposit.
  • A few minutes to review the strategy you want and its risks.

Step by step

  1. Open the app. Go to app.castor.fund directly, or select Launch app on castor.fund.
  2. Connect your wallet. Click Connect, choose your wallet, and approve the connection. Castor never asks for your seed phrase or private key.
  3. Choose a vault. Pick the vault whose risk profile and target suit you (see Strategies). Each vault shows its live APR, TVL, fees and minimum deposit before you commit.
  4. Enter an amount. Type how much you want to deposit, or select Max. Keep a small balance for gas.
  5. Approve the token (first time only). The first deposit of a given asset needs a one-time approval transaction so the contract can use that token. Confirm it in your wallet.
  6. Submit the deposit request. Review the details and confirm the transaction. Castor vaults process deposits as requests: the vault operator approves them, usually within a few hours (and up to a few days over weekends).
  7. Wait for approval. The vault page shows your request under Pending Operations with the status Awaiting team approval, and a notice like "Your deposit of $50.00 is pending approval". This is normal; nothing to do.
  8. Claim your shares. Once approved, the request turns Claimable on your dashboard. Claim it and your position is live and starts accruing yield.
Always check that the URL is app.castor.fund before connecting, and review every transaction in your wallet before signing.
Weekend note. Some Castor strategies hold tokenized real-world assets (such as commodities) whose prices track traditional venues like the CME, which close on weekends. While those markets are closed, dashboard values can show temporary disparities. Deposits requested over the weekend may be validated on Monday when markets reopen, though they are often processed sooner.

After depositing

Your dashboard shows your position value, the live APR, pending and claimable requests, and accrued yield. Yield compounds automatically. When you want your funds back, follow Withdrawing.
